Our Mission
Travel planning can be overwhelming. Endless search results, analysis paralysis, the same destinations everyone visits. GoTripzi was created to solve this problem—we make spontaneous travel simple, accessible, and exciting. Our random destination generator takes the stress out of planning by intelligently matching you with realistic, affordable destinations based on your budget, travel dates, and preferences.
How GoTripzi Started
GoTripzi was born from a simple question: "Where should we go this weekend?" As a frequent traveler based in Prague, Jan Křenek found himself spending hours comparing flights, checking weather, calculating budgets, and reading endless blog posts—only to end up visiting the same popular destinations everyone else did. He wanted something different: a tool that could instantly suggest realistic trips with real prices, seasonal insights, and direct booking links. After months of development, data curation, and testing, GoTripzi launched in 2025 to help travelers discover authentic destinations beyond the tourist hotspots.

Curated Database
237+ destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas—each curated with researched budget tiers, seasonal data, climate information, and top attractions.
Smart Filtering
Filter by budget tier (budget/mid-range/luxury), travel dates, climate preference (warm/cool/moderate/tropical), continent, Schengen-only trips, and origin airport (for estimates and booking links).
Weighted Algorithm
Our picker scores destinations that match your filters, then adds weight for in-season months, a strong budget fit, and variety (down-ranking places you saw recently). Results are weighted random—not a fixed ranked list.
Instant Booking
Every destination includes direct deep-links to Skyscanner (flights), Booking.com (hotels), and GetYourGuide (activities) with your dates and destination pre-filled.
Our Data Sources & Methodology
We take data accuracy seriously. Destination data is researched from multiple trusted sources and reviewed on a rolling basis:
💰 Budget Estimates
Per-destination daily budgets are researched and stored in our database (verified price searches for accommodation, food, transport, and activities), with budget, mid-range, and luxury tiers in EUR. We may apply a 2.5% annual inflation adjustment from a 2024 baseline on legacy fields. Numbeo and Booking.com are benchmarks during research—not live API feeds. Totals exclude flights and represent typical per-person daily spending.
🌤️ Climate & Seasonality
Historical climate data from Open-Meteo (2020-2025) powers our month-by-month weather guides. We analyze temperature, rainfall, and daylight hours to recommend the best times to visit.
✈️ Flight Time Estimates
Destination pages show approximate flight times (~X h) from your detected or chosen origin airport. We map your country or time zone to a major IATA hub, measure great-circle distance to the destination, then estimate duration using typical jet cruise speed (about 800 km/h) plus takeoff and landing overhead. These are planning guides only—not live airline schedules, route databases, or layover times.
🛂 Visa Requirements
Each destination carries Schengen and visa-required flags set using official government sources (including the EU Travel Documents portal and IATA Travel Centre) when content is updated. These are general planning indicators—not legal advice, and not checked on a live schedule.
📝 Destination Content
Destination descriptions, highlights, and practical tips are researched and written per city, using official tourism resources, UNESCO listings, guidebooks, and common traveler patterns where relevant. Content is reviewed and updated on a rolling basis—not copied from a single live feed.
📸 Destination Imagery
Every destination features professionally licensed stock photography that captures the essence of each location. Images are selected for authentic travel context and optimized in AVIF/WebP for fast loading without sacrificing visual quality.
